I've just come back from an unforgettable journey to Pandora.
James Cameron wanted to build this world in 1999 but couldn't do it because it would cost above 400M to get all the special effects done.He had to shelve his project for 10 years , waiting for the technology to catch up.
Avatar is worth those 10 years of waiting and also every penny of the multi millions budget.
Pandora is so stunning beautiful that can not be described in words.Every little detail of this world keeps the audience dropping their jaws. The new imax 3d technology really brings cinema entertainment to a whole new level.Avatar can put you on a dragon and let you enjoy a thrilling flight above colorful landscapes. It can also make you feel the breath of the monster chasing right after you.The night scenes in the jungle will definitely blow you away.
Our Earth could also have been that beautiful if we had not destroyed it.
That maybe the message that James wants to send us.
The story of the movie is quite simple, even predictable but solid : Good vs Bad,the colonizers vs the natives or some might say : human beings vs nature/spirit forces.
This is not the strong part of Avatar but at least it gives us something to follow.
The character does develop well with strong acting and everything does make sense.Roland Emmerich(2012) and Michael Bay(Transformers 2) really need to learn how NOT to make the audience painfully suffering their 150 minute long pieces of crap just to show off all the special effects
Sci-fi is not my cup of tea and I mostly care about the plot/dialogue of a movie.
I also usually prefer enjoying movies alone at home because I really hate distraction while watching but Avatar is the movie that you MUST watch and make sure to watch it in a 3D cinema.
